Covid-19 Vaccine 2026/27
Seasonal COVID-19 vaccinations are available at Ballybrack Medical Hall from 5 October 2026.
COVID-19 vaccination helps protect against serious illness, hospitalisation and complications from COVID-19. Protection can reduce over time, which is why vaccination continues to be recommended for people at greater risk.
Who should get a COVID-19 vaccine?
For the 2026/27 season, COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for:
- people aged 80 years and over
- people aged 18 and over living in long-term care facilities for older adults
- people aged 6 months and over who are immunocompromised
- people aged 60 to 79 years
- people aged 6 months to 59 years with a medical condition that increases their risk of hospitalisation, severe illness or death from COVID-19.
People aged 80 and over, adults living in long-term care facilities for older people and people who are immunocompromised are recommended to receive a COVID-19 vaccine twice each year.
People aged 60–79 and people under 60 with an eligible medical condition are generally recommended to receive a COVID-19 vaccine once each year.
Can I get a COVID-19 vaccine if I am not in a high-risk group?
Yes. Adults aged 18 to 59 years who do not have an underlying medical condition can choose to receive a COVID-19 vaccine once a year following discussion with a healthcare professional.
Health and care workers can also choose to receive an annual COVID-19 vaccine.
COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy
COVID-19 vaccination is recommended during each pregnancy for people who are immunocompromised or who have a medical condition that puts them at higher risk of serious illness from COVID-19.
Other pregnant adolescents and adults can also choose to receive a COVID-19 vaccine following discussion with a healthcare professional.
If you are pregnant and unsure whether vaccination is recommended for you, please speak to your pharmacist, GP or maternity healthcare team.
How long should I wait between COVID-19 vaccines?
You should normally wait at least 6 months after your last COVID-19 vaccine or COVID-19 infection before receiving another seasonal dose.
In some exceptional circumstances, such as planned immunosuppressive treatment or for operational reasons, a shorter interval of at least 3 months may be used.
If you are unsure when your last vaccine was given or when you last had COVID-19, please speak to our pharmacist before your appointment.
Can I get my flu and COVID-19 vaccines together?
Yes. If you are due both vaccines, your flu and COVID-19 vaccines can be given at the same appointment.

COVID-19 vaccination at Ballybrack Medical Hall
COVID-19 vaccination is available in participating pharmacies for people aged 12 years and over, subject to current HSE recommendations, vaccine availability and a pharmacist suitability assessment.
Children under 12 who require COVID-19 vaccination cannot receive their vaccine in a community pharmacy and should access vaccination through the HSE.

COVID-19 vaccination appointments at Ballybrack Medical Hall, Dublin are available from 5 October 2026.
Choose a suitable date and time using our online booking system and complete the requested health information.
We will send you an appointment reminder before your vaccination.
Please do not attend the pharmacy for vaccination if you are currently acutely unwell. Contact us if you are unsure whether you should attend your appointment.
